Catching Up

It's been a few days since the last update. Had a busy weekend this past weekend w/ management in town. Then, I was out of town during the first part of the week. Visited my friend, Jasper, up in Ohio and went to my brothers game vs. Miami (OH). They lost. I believe my positive posts about MU basketball have jinxed the team, so no more, until after they've won the NCAA tournament.

We had our first "real" small group meeting last night. We haven't received the book (Grace Awakening) we are gonna be reading together yet, so we all came prepared to discuss a couple chapters from I Corinthians. I guess I'm still trying to figure out how to be a leader and how to lead discussion, but it seemed to go pretty smoothly.

The pictures we took for our band turned out fairly well. I'm not quite sure if we avoided looking like jerks, but hopefully a few will work out for our CD. We ended up going to Jeff's hunting cabin in the middle of nowhere in Wayne County. It's typical rural West Virginia, driving through creeks and up a few hollers to a house that's falling apart and devoid of indoor plumbing. This wasn't a shock to me, but to experience this with our NYC management team was very entertaining. These are a couple of guys that know NYC and LA, and very little in between. Needless to say, they felt like they were on another planet. To top off the weekend, we gave them their first trip to Walmart. It just struck me as odd that these guys from a city full of huge and intimidating buildings could be humbled and awestruck by Walmart. I'm going to try and post a couple of the photos.
